Bath-based Cognisess launches its predictive people analytics platform
Bath-based Cognisess set out on a mission to eradicate the subjective biases that unconsciously yet inevitably take place during the job application process.
In order to tackle this huge issue, Cognisess aims to be the leading software platform for predictive people analytics – and the launch of the Cognisess Deep Learn engine means it’s one step closer to realising this dream.
Cognisess has combined the latest cloud-based technology with cutting-edge cognitive research to create its software assessment tools which enable businesses to monitor and analyse applicants’ cognitive behaviour.
“What we’ve done is introduce game mechanics – level and points systems – to understand how people make decisions”
Cognisess has just announced the arrival of its pioneering platform that seeks to improve performance and organisational design for companies. It also wants to help employees in this process by guiding people to jobs that their cognitive test results suggest they are best suited to. And, if you’re a job seeker, it’s free!
Stamping out subjectivity
Chris Butt, Founder and CEO of Cognisess, stresses the importance of using games as a metric to test cognitive behaviour. He believes results are more indicative than linear exams, therefore producing a better end result for all.
“Our predictive people analytics combines 8 performance areas making Cognisess the most comprehensive [comparison] tool”
Chris elaborates, “In the past people have been categorised by their IQ score, which is probably one of the worst predictors of career success. So, what we’ve done is introduce game mechanics – level and points systems – to understand how people make decisions.”

The new platform encompasses over 40 games and assessments, measuring 80 personal attributes which future employees complete on Cognisess’ website.
Cognisess has put accessibility at the heart of this platform through ensuring it is available to use on mobile and programming it in multiple languages. Moreover, companies are able to review all the data collected on one simple personalised dashboard. Cognisess also includes a tracking system, allowing employers to monitor applications throughout the entirety of the process and there is a comparison feature to help when it comes to the decision point.
Chris believes this is a progressive action for both Cognisess and the broader audience, “This release represents an enormous step forward with Cognisess Deep Learn being at the heart of the platform – objectively matching job seekers to the right job or career path.
“Our predictive people analytics combines 8 performance areas making Cognisess the most comprehensive tool for companies to make accurate decisions about their candidates and employees.”
