women-outside-the-box10K worth of investment is being offered to companies with female entrepreneurs in a competition being run by female entrepreneurship organisation Women Outside the Box and tech company incubator Webstart Bristol.

The prize includes desk space in Engine Shed, Bristol’s tech hub, business mentoring from a panel of specialists, hands-on support with areas such as graphic design, website and app design and social media marketing (this support will be decided at the start of the programme). You will receive help to put together a pitch and the opportunity to make that pitch before investors at the end of the programme.

To enter you must meet the following criteria:

  • At least one of the founders must be female.
  • At least one of the founders must be a member of WOTB Online
  • The prize is part cash investment, part start-up help through a 10 week incubator programme based in Bristol run by WebStart. The winner will receive a year’s free membership of Women Outside the Box City Business Club. There is no cash alternative to any part of the prize.
  • The incubator programme lasts 10 weeks and starts at the end of September 2014. It is held in Bristol.
  • WebStart accepts 10 participants onto the programme and is holding one of these places for a female start-up as the prize for this competition.
  • Only startups planning to develop apps, websites and web services for rapid deployment will be considered. No product development or agencies can be considered.
  • Startups at idea stage or with a year of boot-strapping behind them can enter.
  • The organisers reserve the right not to award the prize in September 2014 and to extend the deadline if there is no suitable entrant.
