BathSPARK Summer Social, The Bath Brew House
July 16@ 5:45pm
The BathSPARK Social involves bringing together a broad spectrum of people who work in the tech sector in the Bath and Bristol area: from techies to creatives and CEOs to product specialists. Mixing these people creates great conversations and sparks new ideas and often forges new relationships and opportunities.
We will also be doing some very informal ‘1 minute speed networking’ sessions early in the evening to ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to meet someone new!
We are delighted that Elance and Rocketmakers are sponsoring this social. Thanks to our kind sponsors there will be free drinks and food provided – without their support we wouldn’t be able to run events like this. We also have a post-event offer of USD150 to spend on anything Elance!
This is a popular event which is unfortunately already full, however you can still sign up to the BathSPARK Summer Social waiting list – if anyone drops out, you’ll be next in line to attend!

Lunchtime Talk: Kicking the Mic, The Watershed
July 18 @ 1-2pm
This Lunchtime Talk is part of Open Studio Friday, which takes place at the Watershed Studio every week.
Studio resident, choreographer and creative technologist Laura Kriefman will be providing a sneaky peak at some of the extraordinary technologies involved in her new show ‘Kicking the Mic’ in advance of its debut at the Indonesian International Mask Festival this September.
Kicking the Mic is a live tap show that breaks all the rules. Laura will be sharing the latest iteration of her reactive LED dress that pulsates and changes colour in time to the live sounds, and will demonstrate her hacked dancefloor that translates the action of tap dancing into musical instruments such as flutes and tablas. She uses dance to create a soundtrack to dance to, as well as create effects, loops and layers as she moves.

In this discussion about open data, we’ll look at acquisition of data, it’s use and how you can contribute.
You can find out more about this Techie Brekkie and sign up on the meet up site.
If you have an upcoming tech event we haven’t mentioned in this list, tell us about it!
