South West Virtual Reality Meetup
July 29 @ 7pm
Join South West Virtual Reality for their first ever meetup! They’ll have plenty going on with Oculus Rifts, Razer Hydras, at least one Leap Motion controller!
In addition, there will be guest speakers from Toxic Games, who recently released a Director’s Cut of their fantastic first person puzzler Q.U.B.E that includes support for the Oculus Rift. They’ll be talking about the trials and tribulations of adapting the game and to give you the chance to experience the game with a Rift.
JustEAT Office Warming, Bristol Engine Shed

JustEAT have recently moved to Bristol and have set up a great open meetup group for anyone interested in software development! Their first ever meetup is an Office Warming: Tech and Beer where you can meet the members of the new JustEAT Technology Innovation hub and chat about tech to your heart’s content.
Media Tuesday: Quantitative Creative, Goldbrick House

July’s Media Tuesday Bristol Media will be joined by Mason Zimbler’s Marketing Strategy Director Alana Griffiths and their Head of Planning and Innovation Nick Davies. They will be asking how valuable creativity is to your advertising.
Join the discussion about the creative process, creative people and how to judge and measure creativity, and the steps you can take to make sure your communications are both creative and effective.

South West Mobile Summer Social, Bristol Small Bar

Summer is here, and South West Mobile are checking out one of the newest craft beer venues in Bristol – hopefully sat outside. This is just a social night so no talks, but there will be a bit of money behind the bar. Come along and talk about mobile tech with good beer!

Freelance Mums: Networking Walk, SS Great Britain

Don’t let having little ones stop you from networking! Parents in business, with little ones, are invited to network & bring their children to a unique networking event for freelancers.
This event is organised by Freelance Mum, Faye Dicker. It is a facilitated walk setting off from the SS Great Britain car park, around the docks. There will be a short stop at @Bristol, for little ones to play in the small play area & their parents to listen to a keynote speaker, before resuming the walk.
The event will end in the SS GB car park, where there is a cafe area, for those who want to continue their conversations/feed their little ones.

Bristol Ruby User Group Meetup, The Tobacco Factory

As the main organiser of this meetup group, Nicholas Alpi is stepping down and this will be the last BRUG he will organise. This meetup will not only be a chance to say goodbye but will also allow current and new members to shape the future of the group.
BRUG Meetup would love anyone interested in Ruby to come along and let them know what kind of talks they’re after and what format would works the best.

UX Hacks, Laughs and Tears, The Elephant Pub (Bristol)

SWUX (South West Usability Discussion Group) are free meet-up for UX and UX-curious people, on the first Tuesday of every month in Bristol. They’re a group for open discussion on all usability issues, including software to web design to mobile apps.
They’ll have a slightly lighter and more social approach for August. Off the back of UX Bristol and all the other exciting things going on, they’ll be talking about…

Bath: Hacked: Data store opening night.
7 August, 6.15 to 9:15pm, The Guild Coworking Hub, Bath, BA1 5EB
Yes, you read that right: We have a data store! In true Bath: Hacked spirit, we want everybody to take ownership of this beast so we’re holding a data night on 7th August at 6.15pm at The Guild.
As well as finishing the beer stash leftover from the last hack, you can also play with the store, add data, do your best to break it and enjoy an evening sharing ideas and plans for world domination with other devs.
