Brand You Awards, Bristol V-Shed
16 September @ 6-10pm
Join Bristol Media and the nominees of this year’s Brand You awards, as they celebrate the work of the individual staff members or freelancers whose work has been judged as outstanding by our panel of national judges.
The awards will be given to winners in 14 categories covering all of the creative industries from animation to design, apps, games and social media.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place in the beautiful setting of Bordeaux Quay on Bristol’s Harbourside. There will be complimentary drinks and canapes on arrival from 6.30pm with the awards ceremony starting at 7.30pm followed by drinks and networking.

Pervasive Media Studio Lunchtime Talk: Tangible Memories, The Watershed
5 September @ 12-1pm
Join a team from Bristol University as they discuss and demonstrate the work they’re doing with older people in care homes, designing and perfecting intelligent objects, such as interactive musical cushions, to provoke memory and build a sense of community and shared experience through a cooperative exploration of their life history stories.

SETSquared Workshop: Directors Responsibilities, The Engine Shed
9 September @ 10am-12pm
This interactive workshop, led by Jon Gill of TLT Solicitors, will explore the different roles that founders of early stage businesses have to play, being shareholders, directors and typically employees as well. The workshop will be particularly relevant to first time directors, explaining their legal duties and ensuring that entrepreneurs have the knowledge and confidence to adopt good and positive governance in their business from the outset.

Techie Brekkie: Crowdfunding, The Guild Coworking Hub, Bath

Crowdfunding has turned the traditional model of financing a business or a project on its head, instead of asking a few people for large sums of money as was the traditional model, crowdfunding allows businesses to use the internet to ask small amounts from large numbers of people.
But what crowdfunding options are right for you? What do you need to do to get your business investment ready? Is your business an investable proposition? This breakfast, kindly sponsored by Crowdcube, aims to address some of the myths and questions surrounding this financing method, and will talk you through how to successfully raise money – via the crowd.

Craneworks creative showcase with Jessi Baker, Bath

Why not find out more about Craneworks and get behind this great project for Bath. Craneworks will create a cutting-edge centre for invention. The event will give an introduction and film about the project along with ways to make it happen. Guest speaker Jessi Baker is a Designer & Creative Technologist. She is also the founder of new tech social enterprise Provenance, a passionate believer in STEM to STEAM and Craneworks and has talked for TEDx.
