Mark Stopher, Production Manager at Bristol-based Wildseed Studios, owns a rather impressive drone which takes the most beautiful 4k video from the most astonishing vantage points. And he wants to show you how you could do it too.
Wildseed Studios showcase creative content online focusing on live-action comedy, genre fiction and animation. And they also use cutting-edge technologies to capture video footage and create special effects, letting them make films on an incredibly small budget.
How do I do it?
Want to do something similar yourself? Well Mark’s here to answer all your questions, including: how do you pick the drone to use? What is it like to use one? And what do you need to be aware of?

What do I need to do it?
The kit he uses in the video and when capturing the footage is listed below:
- DJI Phantom 2 H3-3D Gimbal
- DJI Phantom 2 LiPo Battery
- ImmersionRC 600 mW 5.8 GHz Long Range Transmitter
- ImmersionRC SpiroNet 5.8 GHz LHCP Antenna Set
- Flysight Black Pearl 7″ FPV LCD HD Monitor with Built in Diversity Receiver 32 Channel 5.8GHz
- DJI iOSD Mini
- Propeller guards
- GoPro Polariser from eBay
- Backpack from eBay
At a pricetag of £1,300 it may sound a lot, but it’s a fraction of the price it would cost to recreate the shots using more conventional methods.
