Wazoku, a leading provider of collaborative innovation software, has opened its second UK office in Bristol. It chose Bristol primarily because of the strength of the development talent and plans to double its numbers in the city by the end of 2015.

“As a technology firm our success is dependent on the strength of our product, and the development community here is among the best in the country”

Wazoku is one of the UK’s fastest growing B2B technology firms and its online platform Idea Spotlight is designed to power collaborative innovation and solve business challenges. It gives organisations the process and structure to capture, evaluate and select ideas from their staff, partners, manufacturers or even customers themselves.

The platform is highly flexible and can be used to solve any kind of business challenge, as well as increase engagement, dialogue and discover valuable new insights and talent.

Why Bristol?

Rosemarie Diegnan_Wazoku“As a technology firm our success is dependent on the strength of our product, and the development community here is among the best in the country,” said Rosemarie Diegnan (pictured left), Chief Strategy & Product Officer, Wazoku.

“That community, Bristol’s four universities and potential for growth made it the number one choice for our second UK office.

“We want to become active in the Bristol business community and play a role in promoting that”

“Not only will our new development team be making the Wazoku platform even better, but we also want to become active in the Bristol business community and play a role in promoting that.”

Wazoku’s achievements

The company launched in 2011 and has subsequently raised £1.25M in funding, with another round of funding due to close in Q2 2015. It has also won some of the world’s biggest brands as customers, including Aviva, the BBC, and Anglian Water, as well seeing its CEO Simon Hill crowned The Guardian Small Business Leader of the Year in 2014.

Local connections

The University of Bristol has also used Wazoku in the past, one of several leading UK universities using the software with students to get real-life VC feedback for their ideas, helping those students to develop and evaluate business ideas.

“Organisations have realised the power and potential of the crowd for ideas”

“Big ideas and innovation in business are increasingly on the agenda and an important part of that is having the right tools to capture and develop those ideas,” continued Rosemarie Diegnan. “Organisations have realised the power and potential of the crowd for ideas and Wazoku’s technology is helping to realise that potential.”
