On September 10 business incubator SETsquared will be hosting a free event called ‘Next Tech Wave: startup opportunities in “connected” big data’ as part of their new Space Accelerator Hub (in partnership with the UK Space Agency) at the University of Bath Innovation Centre

“Big Data provides an incredible opportunity for new innovations”

Through their new Hub, SETsquared feel they’re now able to offer business incubation support to technology start-ups in the area of  space-related technologies. The event is ideal for those interested in space tech, entrepreneurs and innovators, as well as SMEs looking for opportunities to enhance their product offering.

“Big Data provides an incredible opportunity for new innovations,” says Simon Bond, Innovation Director at SETsquared. “With the support of the UK Space Agency most of the data is available free of charge.  The UK Space Agency are working hard to encourage as many entrepreneurs as possible to take advantage of this, as well as encouraging existing start ups to incorporate this exciting new technology into their existing business in ways that they may not previously have considered.”

“We want to encourage as many entrepreneurs as possible to take advantage of the opportunity”

Colin Baldwin, UK Space Gateway programme manager at UK Space Agency, said: “Many companies wouldn’t necessarily think of the space sector as an answer to help them with developing technology, but we want to show what working with the sector can do for businesses. We want to encourage as many entrepreneurs as possible to take advantage of the opportunity to incorporate this exciting new technology into their startups in ways they might not have considered.”
