The KPMG High Growth Technology Group, in partnership with UKTI (UK Trade & Investment), has launched the 2016 Best British Mobile Startup competition and applications are open to any aspiring British mobile startup wanting to show off what they offer.
The competition comes with the ultimate prize of showcasing your startup at 4YFN (short for ‘4 Years From Now’) at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, but the cutoff for applications is 10 December so you need to hurry to be in with a chance to win.
“KPMG is holding the event to be able to give a platform to the rising stars in the Mobile startup world to represent the UK on a global stage”
Applicants will be able to pitch at a few regional events in London, Reading and Manchester, after which a judging panel will choose 4 winners to head out to Spain to present in front of 250 people.
Tom Fox at KPMG said “KPMG is holding the event to be able to give a platform to the rising stars in the Mobile startup world to represent the UK on a global stage. KPMG’s High Growth Tech Group is in a unique position of having met thousands of interesting tech startups over the years and we want to help them raise their profile and accelerate their growth.”
“The companies themselves found the opportunity to be very useful and got a lot of good PR”
For those lucky enough to be selected to present at 4YFN there will be some added support and pitching tips given at a one-day training camp in London to make sure you’re in the best shape to show off your startup.
This is the second year of this competition and Tom talks about last year’s successes: “RefMe was crowned Best British Mobile Startup 2015 [pictured above], but we took 8 startups to present in Barcelona; the companies themselves found the opportunity to be very useful and got a lot of good PR out of it, especially RefMe.”
For your chance to be crowned Best British Mobile Startup 2016 make sure to apply before December 10. Interested in learning more about KPMG High Growth Technology Group? Check out the KPMG High Growth Technology Group follow them on twitter @KPMGTechGrowth
