Ready for a hacknight that’s that little bit different? The team behind Bristol-based ‘Best Digital Agency’ SPARKies winners Simpleweb are running a hacknight in May where they want you to prototype something cool around the theme of communities & relationships, and you don’t need to be a developer to join in!
“You don’t need to code. You can submit sketches and ideas and still win a prize!”
There will be two prizes being awarded on the night for ideas for apps and websites that can help bring people together. One will be for the best working prototype (be it app, website, widget or hardware hack) and the other for the best idea (shown through a mockup of the concept).
Organiser Kylie Whitehead and Content Manager at Simpleweb (pictured right) explains: “Typically, hacknights are for developers, but this time we’re inviting anyone who’s interested in creating cool new apps. You don’t need to have any technical skills to join in. You don’t need to code. You can submit sketches and ideas and still win a prize!”
“We’re excited to see what a broader range of people with different creative skills will come up with”
Kylie adds: “Great products are about a lot more than just technology and we’re excited to see what a broader range of people with different creative skills will come up with. We’ve all had an idea for an app at some point, so this is an opportunity for anyone to have a go at prototyping one, whether you’re a developer or not (some of the greatest apps are founded by non techies!).”
Everyone is welcome. You could be a marketer, a designer, a project manager, or just someone with an idea for an app! In fact, techSPARK is going too, so if you are coming along, we’ll see you there!
