As part of a series of very useful finance talks, the Engine Shed is playing host to a workshop and Q&A on the venture capital landscape in both the UK and the US.

“The concept of venture capital is commonly mired in misunderstanding and myth – and for some, fear”

carol-lee-pwcIf you have a company keen to access venture capital funding, this event led by PWC’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Valuation Team Leader, Carol Lee (pictured left) will be invaluable.

Nick Sturge, Director of the Engine Shed explains: “’This event follows up on last month’s briefing on the climate for listing your business, and the obvious next briefing should focus on the VC market. The concept of venture capital is commonly mired in misunderstanding and myth – and for some, fear, while others hold VCs, and the concept of VC money in awe.

“It is important for us to help communicate the reality and the real role of institutional equity funding.”

Meet others in the same boat

On the day, Carol will be holding an interactive discussion that will assist you in putting venture capital and fund raising in perspective, and let you talk with people who have done it themselves, are currently doing it, or who are planning to try it.

Nick tells us: “Attendees will get a view of the global market of venture capital investing and get a chance to ask questions of someone expert in the field, as well as from others in the room who have either been through the process or are considering it. There’s also great networking, lubricated with some wine!”
