The UK’s number 1 tech business incubator, SETsquared Bristol, is preparing to host an #Idea2Pitch event this October to capture some top-notch tech startup ideas and help hone and shape them into the ultimate business pitches.

So if you’ve got a great business idea but don’t know where to start, or you’re unsure what to do next in order to grow your technology company – this is the event for you!

As well as an interactive workshop on what makes a good business idea, and how to pitch it for maximum effect, attendees will get to find out what SETsquared is all about and attend its regular ‘Beer ‘n’ Pizza’ networking evening following the session.

“Idea2Pitch will be an invaluable opportunity for anyone considering setting up a technology venture”

Monkia Gierszewska SETsquared centre directorMonika Radclyffe, Centre Director at SETSquared (pictured left) tells us: “At SETsquared we work with entrepreneurs whose ideas are quite developed. We realise, though, that there is a much bigger pool of driven and ambitious people with brilliant ideas, who are not entirely sure whether they could turn those ideas into businesses and how to do it. We want to help them and that’s why we decided to run this event.

“We have 65 businesses in the Bristol SETsquared incubator and they all started with just an idea”

“Idea2Pitch will be an invaluable opportunity for anyone considering setting up a technology venture. We have 65 businesses in the Bristol SETsquared incubator and they all started with just an idea. It is much easier to scale if you have guidance and a support network around you. This is exactly what we can offer to the local ecosystem.”

No pressure pitching

This event is perfect for someone with an idea but perhaps lacking the confidence or know-how to take the next steps and turn it into a business. Monika explains: “You’ve got to be serious about the idea, but maybe not able to commit time or leave your job for it just yet.

“You would know what problem you are solving or what need you are addressing, and ideally you’ll have done some market research on your target market and customers.”

“I’m looking forward to meeting new entrepreneurs with exciting ideas and working out how we can turn them into businesses”

The event will provide a great opportunity to test your idea and determine whether it can be turned into a business before you fully commit to it.

Monika adds: “We will also equip you with techniques for an effective pitch and you will have a chance to practice it in a safe environment, before joining the evening networking event and meeting SETsquared members.

“I’m looking forward to meeting new entrepreneurs with exciting ideas and working out how we can turn them into businesses!”
