Leading technologies from around the region are gathering in September to look at applications for vision and imaging systems to support people’s health and wellbeing. The event, organised by the Assisted living Action Network (ALAN) as part of the 50th anniversary of the University of Bath, will feature a programme of speakers with expertise in medical robotics, computers for rehabilitation and much more.

The event on the 14 September at The Edge at the University of Bath includes a tour of the newly opened Centre for the Analysis of Motion, Entertainment Research and Applications (CAMERA) research centre in the Department of Computer Science and a talk from Dr Darren Cosker from CAMERA.

Sanja Dogramadzi from the University of the West of England will be discussing imaging systems for medical robotics, while Majid Mirmehdi of the University of Bristol will look at the computer vision aspects of the Sphere Project, the largest health technology research programme in Europe. Michael Proulx from Bath will describe auditory scene analysis and sonified visual images

Dr Alex Mihialidis from the University of Toronto will be examining the application of computer vision in health and rehab technologies.
