An award-winning Bristol-based IT consultancy is converting its existing facility on Victoria Street into a digital delivery hub. With the multi-million pound development, BJSS is creating a lot of IT staff jobs and offering its large-scale enterprise clients full end-to-end solutions.

bjss-simon_cook-head-of-bristol-developmentWe spoke to Simon Cook (pictured left), head of Bristol delivery at BJSS, to find out what we can expect from the large investment. Simon tells us, “Our investment in the Bristol Digital Delivery Hub will exceed £2million by the end of this year alone and will see us recruit an extra 20 first class IT staff, mainly from the local area, to join our existing South West team.”

Masters of agile enterprise systems, BJSS has made the big decision after recognising the demand from the market, Simon explains, “Today’s consumers expect convenience and accessibility. They expect our clients to invest in cutting-edge online, UI/UX and mobile services.”

Bigger in Bristol

Despite having project delivery centres in Leeds and Manchester, Bristol will be BJSS’s first digital delivery hub. Simon tells us, “It differs slightly from the Leeds and Manchester because it has a heavy focus on providing online, mobile and UI/UX type services in addition to mainstream IT engineering.”

“There’s a good focus on collaboration with thriving initiatives throughout the tech cluster”

This expansion will see BJSS inject significant investment into the city, Simon adds “We’ve been impressed by the technical talent and creativity which exists in Bristol. There’s also a great spread of businesses here and there’s a good focus on collaboration with thriving initiatives throughout the tech cluster. So, in the end, it was a reasonably easy decision for us to upgrade our existing Bristol facility.

“Bristol and Bath will also play a fundamental role in defining the UK’s future technology landscape”

“It’s significant that Bristol and Bath boasts over 1,100 tech companies and startups. With the quality of innovation, talent and experience available here, the region is already playing a leading role in shaping the UK’s tech sector. Bristol and Bath will also play a fundamental role in defining the UK’s future technology landscape. It’s a really exciting time to be part of it.”

More to come

In keeping with their collaborative nature, the local BJSS team actively participate in the South West tech cluster. Simon says, “You’ll often find us at a talk or a tech gathering. We also frequently sponsor and participate in local tech events and hackathons.”
