Bristol-based startup Meetzoo is inviting the South West’s biggest groovers down to the Engine Shed on 31 March to create an Elvis-inspired marketing video for its innovative app that aims to boost productivity and encourage collaboration in business meetings.

“We’ll be giving a donation to a local children’s charity for each person that comes and shakes their tail feathers”

Following an impressive crowdfund raise earlier this year, Meetzoo is developing a new feature for use at events and conferences which allows people to bump or shake phones to instantly exchange contact details, create a mutual calendar event that can be used to share notes and remind you when you met.

And what better way to do this than to invite the South West tech scene to film their best moves to Elvis’ ‘Whole Lot-ta Shakin’ Goin’ On’ in one very fun marketing video!

Paul Lewis-Borman founder of Meetzoo (pictured left) tells us: “My sons Archie who’s 8 and Edward who’s 3 are crazy about Elvis. I was watching them dancing around the kitchen to Elvis’  ‘Whole Lot-ta Shakin’ Goin’ On’ and thought it would make a great video to promote our ‘shake to meet’ feature – and to have people dancing around showing the different ways they might ‘shake’ their phones.”

Get involved

With the idea firmly in the pipeline, Meetzoo has secured prime dance space at the Engine Shed and is seeking some keen beans to take part.
Anyone is free to turn up on the day for a quick boogie between 11.30am and 3pm but the Meetzoo team is keen to get an idea of numbers – even if it’s just to make sure they buy enough fizz to go around. You can express interest in taking part here.

“We’d love as many people as possible from the diverse mix in Bristol and the South West to come down and take part”

Paul promises: “You’ll have a lot of fun, some free drinks and the chance to have your dance moves immortalised in our video, and to reward your goodwill we’ll also be giving a donation to a local children’s charity for each person that comes and shakes their tail feathers.

“I love the unique mix of technology and the arts that our city has and we’d love as many people as possible from the diverse mix in Bristol and the South West to come down and take part.”

The event is due to be held at the Engine Shed on Friday 31 March at 11.30am – 3pm – refreshments provided. You can turn up on the day but do register your interest on the Meetzoo website if you can.
