Bath-based award-winning communications company Gradwell has announced it is headline sponsoring the SPARKies 2017, to help champion the best of tech and digital in Bristol, Bath and the South West of England.

Commenting on the company’s decision, Gradwell’s Chief Product and Marketing Officer and brand new SPARKies 2017 judge Julien St.John-Dennis, (pictured left) tells us: “Gradwell is proud to support the tech and digital communities based in the South West.

“By supporting and enabling fantastic events like the SPARKies, Gradwell can play a part in recognising the talent and hard work that goes into [the tech] sector”

“Over the past decade, Gradwell has witnessed the region becoming a hub for some of the brightest minds the in the country – and by supporting and enabling fantastic events like the SPARKies – Gradwell can play a part in recognising the talent and hard work that goes into this sector.”

This is not the first time Gradwell has been connected to the SPARKies though, the company has been involved since the early days. And with its innovative communications technology (including voice over IP (VoIP) internet-based telephony, superfast broadband and cloud communications solutions which are currently used by over 22,000 small businesses across the UK) and involvement in supporting the local tech community, the team unsurprisingly managed to bag the SPARKies ‘Best service provider to the tech sector’ award back in 2013.

This means Gradwell knows a thing or two about how important it is to nominate those who deserve recognition for their hard work and achievements.

“Taking the short amount of time to nominate your business can be a startup’s first step towards sector-wide awareness”

As Julien explains: “Winning the 2013 ‘Best service provider to the tech sector’ provided an endorsement to the project Gradwell Communications had undertaken and a real sense of pride amongst the Gradwell team.

Taking the short amount of time to nominate your business can be a startup’s first step towards sector-wide awareness and a glowing commendation from industry leading professionals who really know their stuff.”

Supporting the next generation of techies is a cause Gradwell takes seriously. So, as well as supporting the SPARKies awards, Julien tells us: “We can often be found providing interview and careers advice to the students at Bath College, as well as internship programs for both college and university students.”
