South West startups have the opportunity to take part in PitchFest and pitch for up to £250,000 worth of investment at the upcoming Like Minds – the innovation and ideas festival – in Exeter on 29 September.
The PitchFest participants, who will be chosen from a pool of applicants, will have five minutes to pitch their business and share their ideas, and then answer questions.
“Local businesses can present their business ideas to some of the UK’s most influential investors”
The panel will be made up of investors from Angel & Venture networks, with a collective £250,000 to be invested in what they decide are the most innovative and exciting startups.
Like Minds founder Andrew Ellis says: “Local businesses can present their business ideas to some of the UK’s most influential investors to try and secure a share of the festival reward. PitchFest is one part of a fantastic business festival that will give our regional businesses an array of opportunities to learn, be inspired and make new connections.”
The festival, which has already toured Bristol, London, New York and Helsinki will also be bringing together world-class workshops, panel discussion and speakers from global brands such as LEGO and LinkedIn, as well as local successes such as John Courtney, Director of Stockwood Ventures and a SPARKies tech awards finalist, in addition to Luke Lang co-founder of the UK’s leading crowdfunding site, Exeter-based Crowdcube.
