As part of the University of the West of England‘s (UWE Bristol) £16m University Enterprise Zone, Launch Space – a graduate high-tech business incubator – is offering the opportunity for recent graduates from across the UK to apply for a year’s worth of free residency and business support from October 2017.
Already home to 17 businesses, Launch Space is fast becoming an inspiring place for high tech. Current residents include Greg Gruszecki who is working on a wearable environmental pollution mask that filters harmful pollutants from the air and Annie Lywood who founded Bonnie Binary Ltd, an e-textile consultancy for the assisted living sector.
“Launch Space provides valuable connections [for] bright graduates with tech-related ideas”
Not only that but the Enterprise Zone that Launch Space is a part of also houses Future Space, a business incubator for established tech companies, as well as the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, a hotspot for the development of innovative products and services around robotics. This puts its residents at the heart of one of the key business areas for high tech in Bristol and the perfect location to gain valuable business links.
‘Launch Space‘ Incubation Manager Kim Brookes, says: “Launch Space provides valuable connections between the bright graduates with tech-related ideas, businesses looking to invest or be involved in an exciting enterprise and academic and technical experts.”
So if you’ve graduated in the last 3 years, have a bright idea in high tech and want to make it a reality, it’s time to get those applications in. But be quick, the deadline is 30 September.
All you need to do is ensure is that your business is registered in the UK and you are based in the South West of England (Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset). Those who make it through the initial application process will attend interviews in early October. The lucky ones that make it through will then follow this up with a three-day induction.
Interested graduates can apply via the Launch Space application form. To find out more about Launch Space head to their page on the UWE Bristol website or follow them on Twitter here: @UWEBristol.
