After being filtered through hundreds of applicants and pitching both locally and nationally, Bristol-based ‘location-based experience platform’ Landmrk has been announced as one of the five startups selected to go through to the final of KPMG‘s Best British Mobile Startup 2018.

“The five finalists are testament to the strength of the UK when it comes to disruptive mobile technologies”

Taking place at the world’s largest annual mobile industry gathering – Mobile World Congress – in Barcelona, the startups will not only have the opportunity to exhibit their tech but also pitch to global investors and major corporates at the event’s dedicated startup conference 4 Years From Now (4YFN) where the final winner will be crowned.

Show-stopping tech

Ready to impress, Landmrk has already made the headlines this year – as one of the top 50 startups in Europe, in the finals of the SPARKies tech and digital awards and at the Silicon Gorge Investor Showcase.

At 4YFN it will be showcasing its bespoke campaigns and tech that places digital content into physical locations anywhere in the world in the hope of being awarded the title Best British Mobile Startup 2018.

Tom Fox (pictured left), from KPMG’s local high-growth teach practice, says: “Judging the competition this year has been very difficult given the high quality of innovative businesses that stepped forward to take part, but the judges all agreed that the five finalists are testament to the strength of the UK when it comes to disruptive mobile technologies.

“Mobile World Congress is the ultimate platform for startup businesses in this space and an amazing opportunity to showcase the best that the UK has on offer in terms of mobile startups. For the finalists this opportunity to get in front of the key players in the industry could be invaluable in opening doors that can be difficult for a small enterprise to achieve on their own. With Brexit moving ever closer, it is more important than ever to showcase the unique tech talent that the UK has to offer.”

Mobile World Congress will take place on 26 February to 1 March, to find out more and get involved head over to the Mobile World Congress website.
