Blogging is still one of the most important tactics marketers use to create and distribute content. For B2B companies, it is often more time and cost-effective than traditional lead generation methods, such as advertising.
“Is the power of social media overshadowing blogs?”
But with the rise of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with its new expanded character limit, that allows companies to engage with their customers almost instantly, is blogging still relevant? Is the power of social media overshadowing blogs or should they be used for different purposes?
To answer these questions, we have invited Emily Perkins (pictured right), Creative Content Manager at Oggadoon, to tell us about the current state of blogging and social media for businesses and discuss future trends at a mini-conference in Bristol on February 8.
Emily specialises in copy and branding and has almost a decade of writing experience behind her. She is passionate about authentic stories and is well placed to understand what works and what doesn’t when it comes to engaging customers online.
Expert experience shared
To examine the subject further, we have invited three more guests with various backgrounds to take part in a panel discussion following Emily’s talk.
Sonja Jefferson, founder, marketing coach and content strategist at Valuable Content, Neil Elliott, co-founder of Patternbank and Stacey Tylisczuk, digital specialist recruiter at ADLIB, have all agreed to share their experiences and knowledge and will be answering your (and our) questions on content strategy, lead generation and customer engagement using blogging and social media platforms.
As always, there will also be plenty of opportunities to network as well as food and drinks. The event takes place on February 8 at Engine Shed in Bristol. Find more information and purchase your ticket via Eventbrite. We look forward to seeing you there!
