Sparkol, the Bristol based innovative firm behind whiteboard animator VideoScribe, has been acquired by its CEO Zoe Taylor.
Zoe (who joined the company as COO in 2014 and became CEO in November 2016) will build upon the success of VideoScribe with new products, wider distribution network, additional sharing platforms and a greater emphasis on collaboration as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Sparkol’s new owner has said: “I’m passionate about helping people quickly and easily bring their storytelling to life on an equal footing, globally, irrespective of size or budget. Thanks to our dedicated and knowledgeable team, we are empowering more people than ever to engage their audiences and I’m excited to lead the company into a new era.”
The acquisition comes a time of great change at Sparkol, as VideoScribe continues to achieve international renown in over 140 countries, and following the recent launch of StoryPix, a service which transforms photos into ‘explainer presentations’ for professional and personal use.
About Sparkol’s services
Sparkol was founded in 2008 with the aim to provide a service which allows for easy and engaging ways to present information and to share it online.
With 25 employees in its Bristol offices, Sparkol has developed a suite of intuitive tools designed to enhance communication with international audiences.
VideoScribe is their most successful service of this kind, earning 2 million users across all kinds of business sectors, charities and education since its launch in 2012. Their most recent service, StoryPix allows users to create voiced, shareable videos from a single picture.
Sparkol also runs two programs for affiliates and partners which aim to maximise opportunities within the global shift to video-based marketing, the creation of high-quality videos, custom illustrations and staff training. These services utilise Sparkol’s years of experience.
