The SPARKies awards are back to celebrate the tech innovators in Bristol, Bath and the West of England, and in less than a month (21 June) we’ll get to find out who our well-deserving award winners are. To host the event, we’ve looked to some primo talent for the hosting duties. Homespun hero and star of TV and stage, Jayde Adams will be holding the mic.

“I can’t wait to host the SPARKies”

Jayde’s one of those incredible all-around talents. With award-winning stand-up shows that have toured the country and a raft of television appearances on shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Dara O’Briain’s Go 8 Bit that proves her comedic skill, you’d think that would be enough, but her list of credits doesn’t end there.

She’s worked as a television presenter for NBC’s Before the Morning After and Comedy Central’s Say Whaaat? and has acting credits from Borderline, Sick Note and Russell Howard’s A Gert Lush Christmas, while we’ll also be seeing her soon in Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens. All that’s without mentioning her singing and dancing skill.

We’re a bit jealous.

Jayde joins us in the middle of preparations for her latest solo show, but she seems pretty happy about it “I can’t wait to host the SPARKies. I always imagined I’d host the Baftas one day and I was always a nerd when I lived in Bristol, I never thought I’d be coming back to host an award for the biggest nerds in a venue I dreamed of going to! What a turn up for the books! Or should I say MacBook Pros?”

You can catch the candid and charismatic performer at the Marble Factory, Motion with us for the 6th annual SPARKies awards on June 21. We recommend buying your tickets in advance. Until then say hello to her on twitter @jaydeadams
