TechSPARK (hey that’s us!) have launched a new programme, SPARK School, aimed at supporting underrepresented people interesting in starting a company.
Following last years successful launch of the SHIFT Programme, we’ve teamed up with Natwest, SetSquared Bristol and Engine Shed to create SPARK School a free programme to enable people with an idea to transform it into a scalable, tech-enabled business. The programme is completely FREE as it’s supported by Natwest’s Skills and Opportunities Fund
The course will cover new founders from putting together a business plan, building sensible 1.0 version of their business, sales, pitching and marketing as well as introducing participants to a huge network of connections to help them on their entrepreneurial journey.
The programme will consist of:
- 10 weeks of guided learning in 3-hour evening blocks from our trainers and some amazing entrepreneurs
- Online resources: the course is supported via access to our online content where all material and resources live.
- 2 Saturday sessions allowing structured work and 1-2-1 mentoring with experienced entrepreneurs and founders
- One-on-one mentoring: you’ll have access to regular check-ins with course Leaders and mentors every week throughout the course.
- Start up Showcase: pitch for either support, investment or to find a co-founder.
- Alumni Network: Ongoing support through our alumni network and TechSPARK’s wider community
Ben Shorrock, TechSPARK’s MD said “It’s super ace to be rolling out another programme to support underrepresented groups in our sector. Whatever your background, getting started is often the biggest barrier to founding – with SPARK School we get to tackle the issues around diversity in the region while enabling more new, exciting businesses.2
Applications for SPARK School aren’t yet open, but you can register your interest here.
