Origin Workspace has now opened its Phase 2 building, housing a range of coworking and private offices dedicated to entrepreneurs, start-ups and scale-up businesses. The launch completes the £9m renovation of the award-winning coworking space at 40 Berkeley Square, fulfilling an urgent need in the Bristol market to provide a home for ‘grow on’ businesses needing premium space for between 4 and 30 people.
In addition to a host of new organisations desperate to set up shop, a number of Origin Workspace’s existing members, including Cook Corporate, EACG and QODA, have opted for larger office space in the new building to accommodate their growing teams.
Rob Hingston, Head of Origin Workspace, commented, “We’ve shaped Origin Workspace in a much-needed response to the requirement for office space in Bristol which is able to house fast-growth businesses and scaleups. Given the level of interest we’ve received on the run up to the Phase 2 launch, the ‘proworking’ movement is continuing to gather pace as we officially open the doors to the Annex building and complete the renovation of 40 Berkley Square, Clifton.”
Phase 1 of Origin Workspace launched in May of this year and reached full capacity within a month of opening. Origin is now home to many of Bristol’s most exciting businesses and talented entrepreneurs who want a high specification finish and need their work environment to match their professional identity.
Origin Workspace’s founder, Heather Frankham, added “We couldn’t be more proud that within our 42,000 sq. ft of workspace we can offer flexibility so that businesses can develop comfortably and commit to new space as and when they need it. When I walk around Origin Workspace, I always get a feeling that there’s a strong community and network developing here. I’m so pleased to see official collaborations taking shape as members hire one another to work on projects and with so many different skills in the building, our coworking environment is a hotspot for talent.”
Now complete, Origin Workspace has two roof terraces and workspace with capacity for over 500 members across its range of memberships including lounge, hot desk, dedicated desks and private offices. It also offers its members a state-of-the-art gym and fitness events that slot into the working day, in addition to a range of other member perks. Origin’s spaces are designed to be airy and spacious, with relaxed communal areas providing the ideal place for connection and creativity.
