Creating a pipeline of tech talent for the region

Join the Swindon Chamber of Commerce with New College Swindon as it sets the stage for a leap forward in developing higher level technical skills in the region. Over £20m of Government funded investment is supporting the initiative to bring much needed digital, creative media, engineering and lab science skills to the area.

The webinar will give an overview of how training at the newly merged College and the SAWIOT will support regional businesses going forwards, plugging the gap for key technical and digital skills, as well as highlighting how employers can access skills support and funding right now as we work together to develop a pipeline of tech talent.

Securing trust in a complex digital media landscape with Blockchain

14:00pm – 15:30pm, Thursday 5th November

For decades, art dealers, whiskey producers, diamond brokers have sought technological ways to detect fakery and protect their valuable assets.

The industry need to know, could we do to secure the provenance and demonstrate the authenticity (and therefore reliability) of precious asset: our media content?

This panel driven debate will look at different projects in the blockchain space who are looking to tackle these challenges.

The Techies

19.30 – 21.30, Thursday 5th November

Swindon & Wiltshire’s technology awards, The Techies 2020 are taking place virtually on Thursday 5th November from 7:30-9:30pm.

Tickets are just £10 and all attendees will receive a free special ‘Techies Tuck Pack’ packed with tasty goodies from Wiltshire producers delivered to their door.

As part of the entertainment there will be live music from Oli Love, AKA, DJ Asian Hawk.
