B in Bath, a networking, support and social network for people from underrepresented backgrounds in the city of Bath and the surrounding area is currently crowdfunding to support its work in the community.

The organisation’s mission is to be a network for professionals from underrepresented backgrounds in BANES. Aiming to build a support system in which people can access advice, training and support, while also promoting collaboration, community building and integration.

B in Bath founder Renée Jacobs said: ‘We see a network as a powerful tool, not only to support its members, but as a resource to create change. Through collaboration, integration and community, we can create an environment where all can thrive.”

The crowdfunding is to help B in Bath in supporting its members with practical resources, paying for physical and digital resources for the community, with none allocated to ‘soft’ costs.

TechSPARK and B in Bath recently worked together to create a series of profiles for Black History Month, showcasing upcoming and established Black leaders in our community, culminating in an online panel session, from which we plan to expand into more sessions in the new year.

Ben Shorrock, TechSPARK MD said: “Every community is made from a number of smaller communities, we need to support each other in order to keep growing together – that’s always been our region’s strength. B in Bath and Renée have added incredible value in a short time, we’re proud to be working with and supporting them”
