Bristol and Bath have a wide selection of venues for all manner of events; they’ve put together a list of venues that inspire creativity and all offer something unique for tech events – check out the second installment for spaces in Bath.
Assembly Rooms
Set in a beautiful Georgian building dating back to 1771, the Assembly Rooms consists of four rooms – the Great Octagon, Tea Room, Ball Room and Card Room. These can be utilised in conjunction with each other for exhibitions with the largest room being 360sqm. Alternatively, one room alone makes an impressive choice for a gala dinner or awards event, with Searcy’s providing high end catering for all functions.
Apex City of Bath Hotel
The Apex Hotel provides delegates with purpose-built meetings and events facilities in the heart of Bath. There is a private entrance to the events space, and easy access for loading in and out.
The Lansdown Suite seats up to 400 guests and comes with state-of-the-art AV including a built-in PA system with BOSE speakers, four extra-large automated screens, unlimited access to high-speed Wi-Fi, access to 3-phase power and rigging points to enable lighting and effect installation.
There are also five smaller meeting rooms on the first floor that offer large HD screens, connectible via each room’s independent Wi-Fi network or HDMI/VGA. The hotel also has 177 bedrooms and leisure facilities for those who want to make the most of their time in Bath.
Doubletree by Hilton Bath
Located in the centre of Bath the hotel offers 4 meeting rooms, from an intimate boardroom for 12 overlooking the River Avon to a Ballroom seating up to 310 delegates for a conference. They also have a secret garden ideal for networking events. Don’t judge a book by its cover, the hotel reopened after a full refurbishment at the end of 2020 and has a stylish and vibrant interior.
The Doubletree by Hilton Bath also makes a great place to work, Emma’s bar and restaurant is spacious with a mix of high and low tables, booths, and private corners perfect to take call’s in. There’s also free WIFI for customers, great coffee, and a reasonably priced lunch menu.
Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel
This five-star hotel is located just 10 minutes’ walk from Bath city Centre and benefits from free parking. Set in 7 acres of private grounds, it’s an ideal venue for creative team building events and residential retreats, with their extensive leisure facilities including an indoor and outdoor pool.
Their largest function room seats up to 130 delegates, with 3 smaller rooms including the Morrison Room, which is set up with state-of-the-art video conferencing technology.
The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa
The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa offers a tranquil, retreat feel in the heart of Bath city centre. A great option for small meetings in a private, luxury setting or for a residential away day. Exclusively hire their 45 bedrooms and suites and take advantage of their award-winning spa facilities, private gardens and food and drink offering. University of Bath
The University of Bath offers some great options for conferencing and events, which are available outside of term time. The campus makes a great summer location with lots of green outdoor space between venues.
The Chancellor’s Building is a modern and versatile venue, with tiered lecture theatres seating 150 to 350 delegates. All rooms include state-of-the-art audio-visual systems and climate control. Then head over to The Edge for more creative spaces including the Weston Studio, which has a full lighting rig and technical set-up to enhance presentations.
