It will offer 12 of these companies the chance to pitch to a virtual room full of investors and enablers of investment on 12th May 2022. Any investors interested in attending the final event on 12th May should contact abby@techspark.co to join the invite list.

This April will feature the pitching competition for up to 24 companies, in order to select the final 10-12 who will make it through to the Showcase. If you would like to see the pitches, you can find out how to attend either date here:

Alongside this year’s competition we’re publishing profiles of a few of the companies that have made it through to the semi-finals – up next is Angus Lancaster from Lala Music.

1. What does your company do?

We make it easy for influencers, singers (and anyone) to re-record and sell hit songs from around the world breaking down the barriers between singers and music copyright owners so that both parties can mutually benefit from additional revenues.

2. What problem are you trying to solve?

Sales of songs are usually limited to one singer, one language and one country while it is also difficult for singers to get permission to make money from doing their own versions of popular songs with changed lyrics.  Our platform makes it easy for singers to get the permissions that they need to generate extra income, while record labels can have multiple influencers and singers around the world generating additional income for them.

3. What makes your solution unique?

There is nothing like this at the moment, we are completely unique.

4. What are you most proud of so far?

Identifying huge hit songs from around the world as well as the right influencers and singers to release their own versions to generate income for both parties.

5. How much are you raising and what do you want to use investment for?
  • Seeking £150K
  • £80K Tech, web and apps
  • £40K Onboard music labels/Influencers
  • £20K Initial lyrics and studio recordings
  • £10K PR/Branding
6. What tools/people/services/organisations helped you most?

The relationships and skills we have built-up over the last 10 years while creating the world’s first celebrity video messaging platform which is now a global billion dollar industry.

7. Where can we find out more about you?

Linkedin (We haven’t launched the website for LaLa Music.com yet).
