We’re super excited to announce we’re recruiting for the second cohort of Bath Spa University’s Digital Marketing Skills Bootcamp. The 12-week long free course is designed for adults looking to reskill, leading to a career in marketing and business development – if this sounds like something you’d like to pursue, please apply here now!
Funded through the West of England Combined Authory’s Digital Skills Investment Programme, the bootcamps will give local people the fantastic opportunity to build up sector-specific skills in digital marketing. Those taking part will acquire the skills needed to gain employment in marketing and business development roles.
You’ll learn how we interact with digital and real-world influences, how to identify target markets, what customer journeys and touchpoints are, and how to design websites. Alongside this, the course will also equip you with the transferable skills on improving your employability based on proven methods for CV and personal statement writing, and interview techniques.
Abigail Frear, Director and Bath Community Manger at TechSPARK, says, “TechSPARK has been heavily involved with the Digital Marketing Bootcamps run in consortia with Bath Spa University and Bath College, and it’s been incredible to see how much the students have learnt and increased their skills over the 12 week course. They often start with little to no knowledge of marketing, to being able to deliver most aspects of any digital marketing campaign – a much in demand skill for local employers”.
So what are you waiting for? Apply now to take the next step in your career as a digital marketeer today. You have until the 27th May to get in your application before the interview phase commences.
But don’t just take our word for it…
Alumni from the first edition of the course achieved impressive results from taking part, and we were so pleased to hear about these outcomes. If you’re torn on whether to sign up for our second cohort, see what previous students had to say about their experiences
My experience of the Digital Marketing Bootcamp was a very positive one. I enjoyed developing my understanding of marketing, from identifying markets, google analytics, creating content for social media and more. The lecturers were informative and very approachable and I was also able to meet an excellent group of classmates.
– Maya Dolman–Bowles, DMB student from September – December 2021
As well as the daily classes there was also the chance for online support later on each day and also check-ins with my mentor and the course employability coach. In addition, we all had access to Slack and could support each other and share ideas through the various channels.
– Dawn Thompson, DMB student from September – December 2021

If you’re interested, your deadline to sign up to take part is 27th May. The course will begin again on 6th June and is between 2-4 hours per day of in-person and online learning Monday to Thursday, the In-person teaching will take place at either one of Bath Spa University’s campuses or Bath College’s City Centre campus. It’s open to anyone over the age of 19 in Bath, Bristol and South Gloucester.

During weeks seven and 11 there’ll be no teaching of new material, instead you’ll have mentor sessions and a chance to put into practice what you’ve learnt. Week 12 is dedicated to your presentations, which will be in front of a panel of digital marketing professionals.
