We’re continuing to highlight some of the fantastic techie co-working spaces here in the South West. Up next is Bath-based Newark Works. A stunning environment that is designed to nourish creativity in spaces full of character, full of history, full of spirit.
From the lone wolf to the aspiring multinationals, Newark Works is an eclectic yet complimentary mix of creatives, innovators and independent thinkers who, together, make up this creative and sociable hub. It is a new, fresh and vibrant destination at the heart of the fast-evolving Bath Quays business district. With internal streets alongside meeting, collaborative and breakout areas, this is a home for single entrepreneurs, through burgeoning creative businesses to well-established companies.
Here to teach us more about this awesome workspace is Hannah Skalleberg, Marketing Manager at TCNUK.

1. Where are you?
We are part of Bath Quays South, known as Newark Works. We are on the south side of the river on the end of the new bridge which opened at the beginning of December. This links us directly into Avon Street leading into Kingsmead Square.
2. How would you describe your space?
Newark Works is a refurbished industrial building with stunning features designed to draw on the building’s rich heritage to inspire the next generation of creatives and big thinkers. With workspace for over 50 businesses and 700 members based around the central crane hall break out areas, this creative cluster is the new home for innovation in Bath.
3. Who will I meet there?
You’re guaranteed to meet interesting individuals here; It’s a creative hub for the forward thinkers and thought leaders of Bath and a home for entrepreneurs and established businesses.
4. Can I bring my team (do you have offices as well as co-working)?
Newark Works offers private and customisable office space to make your own, with space for a team of 2 – 100 individuals. We also have 50 desks in our club space which can be rented on a monthly basis, although we encourage people to make it their permanent home.

5. Is there somewhere for me to meet clients
We’re all about collaboration and the spirit of community. The central crane hall has all the facilities for drinks, lunch meetings and the essential table tennis table. There are also private breakout areas, mezzanine levels and specific meeting rooms for more formal meetings.
6. Do you run any events?
We have a busy calendar of member and community events covering a range of topics for 2023, including speaker series, workshops, and networking events. Be on the lookout for what’s coming next by following us on socials, @TCNUK!

7. What are the perks?
Where to start?! Newark Works is located at the heart of one of the finest city’s in the world, we are a dog friendly space, have bike racks and showers to encourage a healthy lifestyle, an honesty bar, table tennis, stunning meeting rooms, a local bakery (Mokoko) on site, riverfront views, and a collaborative community at the centre of it all. Enough to convince you to stop by? Come and see for yourselves.
8. What makes your space different?
Newark Works is a Grade II listed building, paying homage to the history of this once Stothert & Pitt Crane site while welcoming the future of Bath’s creative and tech community. This means you will be surrounded by likeminded businesses immersing themselves in the creative community.
