“The advancement of immersive audio technologies creates exciting opportunities for new sonic practices”, Dr Farrar tells us. Bristol and Bath is at the forefront of this research and development with projects such as MyWorld. However, one challenge currently exists. Many people working in immersive audio tend to work solo or in small teams. The network will provide a solution to exchange knowledge more widely and encourage industry progression, support inclusive talent pipelines and signpost career development opportunities.

At the Immersive Audio Network launch, Dr. Farrar will be sharing details about a professional training short course and an exciting funded opportunity for mid-career sound professionals in collaboration with Real World Studios and Watershed.

Spark your inspiration at the launch with a sonic smorgasbord of immersive audio from Bath, Bristol and beyond. Explore embodiment and binaural sound with Michelle Roche and Splash & Ripple. Experience the magic of audio via bone conduction with Jack Hardiker and delve into sound artist Duncan Speakman’s award-winning creative processes.

Gain access to this friendly networking opportunity complete with a complimentary drinks reception by signing up for a limited free ticket available here
