Condense is a Bristol-based startup leading in the virtual reality and metaverse space. Founded in 2019, Condense has developed the technology to capture and live-stream real world content into virtual spaces.

After building the world’s first metaverse studio, the organisation has firmly established itself as a pioneer in the immersive industry. As Condense solidifies its global position within immersive tech, the team has announced a strategic appointment to welcome media and sports technology expert, Matt Stagg (pictured right), to its advisory board.

With over 20 years in the entertainment and sports technology industries, Matt brings his extensive knowledge and strong track record of leading teams to explore new and emerging technologies to his new role at Condense.

“It has huge potential for transforming the media landscape and opening up sports and entertainment events to a new global audience”

Well versed in the convergence of sports and immersive technology, Matt is currently the Mobile and Immersive Director at Warner Bros. Discovery and BT Sport. He is also a member of the UK5G Advisory Board, representing the Sport and Creative Industries and specialises in XR, Web3.0 and fan engagement in the metaverse.

Eager to bring his perspective to Condense, Matt tells us, “I’ve been following Condense’s exciting progress since having first worked with them on the 5G Edge-XR project when I was at BT Sport. I’ve been continually impressed by the incredible technology that Condense has developed. It has huge potential for transforming the media landscape and opening up sports and entertainment events to a new global audience.”

Breaking boundaries, Condense has developed end-to-end technology that captures 3D video in real-time that can be live-streamed into virtual spaces. Condense has also developed Studio 5 – a unique platform for hosting live events. Here content owners can design and build their own virtual venue and broadcast their content live in 3D to a global audience.

“[Matt’s] knowledge, expertise and connections will no doubt help us to continue to build strong partnerships with the sports and entertainment industries, and bring authentic live experiences to audiences on a worldwide scale,” reflects Nick Fellingham, CEO and Co-Founder of Condense. “It’s a really exciting time for Condense and we’re delighted to welcome Matt to the team.”

As usual, we’re excited to watch Condense grow. When the team isn’t creating groundbreaking virtual reality experiences, they’re paving the way for fresh talent to break into the sector: meet four of the students currently completing apprenticeships at Condense here.
