Award-winning employee owned digital agency, Torchbox, has relaunched its successful academy programme. Designed to open up opportunities with diversity and inclusion at its core, the programme will kickstart participants’ careers in digital marketing or tech, securing them full-time paid employment. Applications to join the academy close this Monday 24 April – don’t miss out!
Last year’s academy saw six people placed in Torchbox’s tech and digital marketing teams. The premise behind the academy is proven to attract a much wider cohort of talent, offering training on the job. Successful applicants will get paid to develop their skills, receive a dedicated mentor, choice on working environments and move into a full-time role following the programme, all whilst working alongside the experienced team at Torchbox.
Excitingly, this time around Torchbox has introduced a new SEO specialist position, alongside opportunities in Paid Media and Tech and Engineering.
Recruiting differently
“As someone with no prior understanding of digital marketing, the Torchbox Academy has been an excellent learning experience for me,” explains Millie Bullivant, Digital Marketing Executive and former Academy participant at Torchbox. “My knowledge and skills in managing digital campaigns have increased exponentially and being able to work with so many amazing partner charities has been incredible.
“Whether you’ve got an existing interest in digital marketing or want to try something completely new (like I did) the Torchbox Academy is a great place to start your career.”
Torchbox is looking for applicants from across the UK and will shortlist a small group who will be invited to join its Academy Day, which will include an interview and an exciting line-up of talks, workshops, and activities.
Successful participants from the Academy Day will then be invited to enroll in the full academy programme where they will contribute to the live projects for Torchbox clients, including some of the world’s most recognisable nonprofits such as Mind, Oxfam, and Samaritans.
Commenting on the decision to run a round two of the Academy, Emma Bennett, Head of SEO at Torchbox tells us, “We’re really excited to re-launch and expand the Torchbox Academy, with the addition of an SEO specialist position. The success of previous roles in the paid media and tech teams has inspired us to provide even more opportunities for people to specialise in organic search too.
“The SEO team has grown from strength to strength, with our recent Super Trumps campaign drawing interest from incredible nonprofits from across the world, and we cannot wait to welcome somebody new.”
Torchbox is a people-first, employee-owned agency and welcomes neurodivergent individuals and under-represented groups. Applicants may be seeking their first job, having a change in their career path or making a return to work. You can find further details and apply for the Academy here.
