Are you a part of a high-growth tech company based in the South West? Why not nominate your organisation for Deloitte’s 26th annual Technology Fast 50 awards? You have until 1 September to get your nomination to be ranked and recognised as one of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK.
Since 1998, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards have showcased an increasingly innovative and diverse range of UK-based technology companies. Last year’s cohort of Fast 50 companies generated cumulative revenues of £992 million in 2021/22, an impressive average growth rate of 4,568% and employed more than 16,000 people.
“It’s essential that we continue to recognise the importance of startup businesses for regional economies”
Previous winners, including 77 winners from across the South West, are from both large and small companies and include some of the most dynamic players in all areas of technology sectors.
Ranking in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50
In 2022 five companies from the South West were ranked in the top 50 in the awards, and four of them ranked in the top 15.
Following the successful launch of the Women in Leadership category in 2022, this year’s awards will mark the inaugural CleanTech award, recognising climate technologies within the Technology Fast 50 ranking for their contribution to the UK’s net zero target.
“The UK startup scene has shown its resilience and strength despite considerable challenges in the last few years,” says Kiren Asad, lead partner for the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 programme. “For that reason, it’s so important that we celebrate the extraordinary achievements of some of the fastest-growing tech companies in the country.”
Ed Bell, director in financial advisory and the Fast 50 lead for the South West at Deloitte, adds “The Technology Fast 50 awards showcase the best of business across the UK; with two of the last three winners based outside of London.
“In the South West, we have seen 15 businesses rank in the top 50 in the last decade including the likes of ClearBank, MoveGB, VoCoVo and OnBuy. It’s essential that we continue to recognise the importance of startup businesses for regional economies, which provide crucial jobs, investment and growth to the region. I’d love to see even more nominations from the South West and would encourage tech businesses based locally to enter.”
