As part of the Silicon Gorge programme, we’re catching up with the finalists to learn more about their origins, the problem they’re solving and why they’re looking for investment. Next up is Lachlan McGrigor, Co-founder at Framesports.ai.
1. What does your company do?
Our company automates the data collection process found in elite sport – starting with rugby.
2. What problem are you trying to solve?
Millions are spent on data collection within elite sport. This refers to the coding of events like “player 5 made a pass after 2 minutes”. Currently, this process is incredibly expensive and inefficient – relying on manual coding by humans.
3. What makes your solution unique?
We intend to be the first company to completely automate the data collection process in sport – providing higher quality data, available 100x quicker and cheaper, to a range of market segments.
4. What are you most proud of so far?
We have 4 pilot teams helping us develop and have started talks with major sporting organisations. We have also completed our prototype demonstrating our technological feasibility.
5. How much are you raising and what do you want to use investment for?
We are raising £100,000 in order to complete our development. This will be enough to completely automate the data collection process found in rugby. The bulk of this investment is going towards software and an additional developer.

The team behind Enterprise Bath have helped us massively. They have helped us generate initial funding and our CTO has been awarded an Alumni Innovation Award.
