Behind everything the Met Office does, is a team of excellent people working to deliver extraordinary impact.
We operate 24/7, employing more than 2,000 people across 56 locations around the world. This includes:
700 weather and climate scientists
400 people in technology, pulling through the science into operations
460 meteorologists delivering frontline services to customers
We are a vast data enterprise, with some of the biggest data in the world. We hold half an exabyte of data as part of our climate record. That’s five with 17 noughts after it!
But, we couldn’t do any of it without the brilliant people who work here. Excellent people and culture are behind the exceptional, science, technology and operations we have here.
