CLWB wants to demystify Artificial Intelligence with its educational event
To the inexperienced, hearing the words Artificial Intelligence (or AI) can make our ears turn off. It’s hard to resist the urge – AI is a whole new language to most of us, one that has a stigma for being a real challenge to learn.
“This event aims to ‘democratise’ AI by giving non-experts the basic knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of AI”
We caught up with Mike Lloyd, the Founder of CLWB, to find out more: “The objective of the event is to enable non-expert people to get on the front foot in terms of AI.”
Conquering the computer
Mike tells us, “The course is designed for those who use data in their jobs or see the potential use for data.”
This is a practical course, so you can expect to be getting hands-on with tech. Mike says, “Attendees will be gently walked through the maths and technical aspects of AI and the learning builds in graduated steps. By the end of the course, attendees will have put AI to work on data and will have acquired the knowledge and skills to identify the key features of AI and how to make it work for them.”
“Nearly 50% of current jobs [are] at risk from computerisation by 2030”
CLWB recognises the rapidly changing working environments that we all are going to have to adapt to; it believes events like AI Demystified are growing increasingly important to ensure everyone is caught up with what’s available and what it can do.
“With nearly 50% of current jobs at risk from computerisation by 2030*, the world of work is being disrupted faster than most people realise,” says Mike. “The main driver of this change is AI, a domain that is shrouded in complexity and abstract mathematical concepts.
“This event aims to ‘democratise’ AI by giving non-experts the basic knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of AI and understand what is available to use, and how to further develop their own skills.”
