We’re looking for a brilliant Cyber Community Manager to join our team as we deepen our support for the Bristol & Bath Cyber cluster and help make our ecosystem even better. If you’re great at building relationships with people and have a passion for helping them, we’d love to have a chat. We’re looking for someone with a zest for thinking about new, exciting ideas to engage people and will push themselves creatively to engage and support our community to grow.

Job Role
Community is at the centre of everything we do at TechSPARK. We act as the glue that helps stick together the tech sector and it’s how we make sure that people know about all the amazing jobs, events and news happening in the area. It’s a vital resource for helping tech businesses to grow.
This job is all about making that happen. It will be focussed on developing and delivering the best advice and connections to really help our audience. We’re a small startup working with some of the most exciting businesses in the UK and we want our team members to reflect that. We need people to work with us who are enthusiastic, inquisitive, outgoing, flexible and keen to work with our amazing tech cluster.

Cyber Community Manager Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • An understanding of the Cyber Security landscape
  • Familiar with the Bristol & Bath innovation ecosystem and how the technology industry interacts with it
  • Experience of running campaigns and building networks through social media, events, briefings and webinars
  • Experience in relationship management and handling complex accounts
  • Planning and organisation skills with the ability to work to often tight deadlines

Cyber Community Manager Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Able to create strong partnerships to support businesses
  • Ability to work without close supervision – able to prioritise, problem-solve and multi-
    task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability, confidence and credibility when dealing with senior business leaders to develop, influence and advise on business decisions
  • Willingness to take a flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to travel, work unsocial hours and be prepared to put long hours in when circumstances demand it

Cyber Community Manager Desirable Experience and Competencies

  • An established network of connections with stakeholders across the innovation and cyber landscape
  • Successful record on your ability to network
  • Experience of working for a small digital or tech business

Deliverables

  • Closely account manage at least 30-50 tech/digital businesses, engage in programmes and help them grow
  • Monthly knowledge sharing/networking event for a minimum of 40 techies and/or founder
  • Grow and expand Bristol & Bath Cyber presence on existing social media through engagement on platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Create, curate, and manage content across the Bristol & Bath Cyber website which helps navigate the sector and highlight potential opportunities and connections
  • Report on interactions with business and support organisations.
  • Generate partnership and event revenue to support TechSPARK’s wider goals
