Ignite investment opportunity opens for South West startups
Ignite, Europe’s largest distributed startup support and investment network, is on tour and landing in Bristol’s tech hub Engine Shed this Tuesday 15 August following a recent announcement that applications are now open to companies from the South West and Wales.
“It’s encouraging to see Ignite’s arrival, alongside several other programmes and facilities”
The accelerator provides cash investment, alongside a programme of support designed for startups with a minimum viable product or version 1 looking to find product or market fit. Having recently updated the programme to Ignite 2.0, making it a distributed across the country and with a rolling monthly intake, there are now even more opportunities for startups to gain support.
Keen to answer questions, the team will be around during the Engine Shed’s working hours so that companies can pop in and learn more about what Ignite offers in addition to receiving advice on funding, hiring, scaling, or anything startup related.
Commenting on this new investment opportunity, local tech investor and entrepreneur Andrew Mulvenna (pictured left) says: “The South West has a strong engineering heritage, from Brunel to Dyson and our universities produce world class research. However, the ecosystem to commercialise the region’s spin-outs and startups is lacking.
To book a slot to chat to the Ignite team, head to the Engine Shed website or you can also read more about the scheme on Medium here.
