The SPARKies

The SPARKies shine a light on the very best people, products and companies that make up the tech sector in Bristol, Bath and the broader West of England region.

This year the SPARKies will be back on in Summer and will be hosting in Bath.  There are 17 categories representing the brilliance of the tech scene in the West up for grabs. We’re celebrating the entire local tech spectrum – including those wonderful people and companies that work tirelessly to support and grow the cluster.

The Investment Activator Programme

The Investment Activator Programme (IAP) is designed to support companies that are raising equity investment in the South West.

Through this work we hope to increase the flow of capital into the region by putting the spotlight on the great companies that are here and bringing investors together to network, share and learn.

The IAP started as a 2-year pilot programme in January 2020, however after the pilot’s huge success was extended for another 2 years in January 2022.  It is kindly supported by both public and private sector organisations.

Cluster Map

The idea behind a tech cluster map is to have a searchable, map-based directory of all the tech companies (hi tech, digital, advanced engineering and green tech) in the Bristol and Bath region – showing its strength in depth. This directory is in its infancy, and therefore is by no means complete. If you find that your company is missing, please click on the ‘Add a Company’ button to submit your company’s details. Also, if you find that your company is listed but the information is incorrect, please click on the ‘Report Error’ button within the company’s profile page.

Tech for Good

There are many definitions of Tech for Good. For this project, we identify ‘Tech for Good’ as a community of people, projects, and organisations utilising technology to improve social, environmental and economic outcomes and doing so in a way that is collaborative, user-focused and with an end result that is collaborative and user-led.
