Simpleweb wins #DoDifferent award for Product Innovation
Bristol-based web and software agency Simpleweb has won the #DoDifferent award for Product Innovation – an award ceremony that sees some of the UK’s largest creative and web agencies compete for its prestigious awards, recognised for innovation and originality.
Centering its entry around its client OLIO, the food sharing app, the team showed off its success in helping the startup turn its minimum viable product into a fully functioning app.
Kylie Whitehead, Simpleweb’s Content Manager (pictured left), tells us: “We’ve always tried to stay ahead of the game and do things differently. Not for the sake of it, but because we appreciate that the startup world moves fast and that startups can’t afford to fall behind.
“The best thing is being able to celebrate success with our wonderful team and clients and helping to put Bristol on the map”
“The #DoDifferent awards mainly celebrate marketing agencies but when we saw they had a product innovation category, we thought that our approach (i.e. helping startups build viable businesses, reliable tech and become self-sufficient) deserved a look in. Seeing as OLIO is pretty much the dream client, we based our submission around our work with them.
“It was pretty cool winning against some of the biggest agencies in the country, but we don’t want to compare ourselves to them. We’re really proud of our team, and the fact that a small company like us is competing against the big agencies is a testament to how amazing our team is.”
This isn’t the first time Simpleweb has made an impact with its work. Last year, the team won ‘Best Digital Agency’ at our own SPARKies tech awards, which celebrates the best of tech in the West, along with their client OLIO who won the ‘Good’ award and the ‘People’s Choice’ award.

Despite the success and recognition, Kylie adds: “Competitions and awards are definitely worth applying for to get the word out about your company, but the best thing is being able to celebrate success with our wonderful team and clients, and helping to put Bristol on the map.”
Simpleweb has kicked off its year with a great success but the agency is showing no signs of slowing down either. Kylie tells us: “2017 is shaping up to be a very interesting year for us. We’re looking to make more investments than ever before and we’ve got some incredible projects in the pipeline.”
