Social Media Week set to return to Bristol

It aims to share top insights into how social media is changing business, society and culture around the world

Leading news platform and worldwide conference Social Media Week, which saw keynotes from the likes of Facebook, Buzzfeed, Twitter, Glassdoor and Yahoo in Bristol in 2016, will return to the city for the second time in 2018.

The conference will follow on from the success of its first Bristol series, which saw a 50-strong events programme attended by 1,500 delegates. But Social Media Week Bristol is set for an even more spectacular range of inspirational events, talks and seminars next year – at the cutting-edge of insider social media knowledge and technology.

Despite being several months away, the conference already has the support of a stellar line up from leading creative and digital agencies including e3, Fat Media, Noisy Little Monkey, Prophecy Unlimited, saint nicks, True, SearchStar, Synergy, The Agency Works, and Bristol-newbies Noble Studios.

And being the only city aside from London in the entirety of the UK getting involved, the event will also showcase the South West’s own extensive expertise with its presenters including Business West, Bristol Media and Destination Bristol.

Shonette Laffy, a Social Media Week Bristol ambassador and organiser of the Bristol-based social media meetup group The Rules of Engagement (pictured centre left with fellow ambassadors) tells us: “The programme will be a great mix of practical events aimed at all levels of experience, with the opportunity to hear from some big names in the industry and meet other people in similar roles from across Bristol.

“We’ll also be running a special Rules of Engagement evening event on the Wednesday of the event, so I’m looking forward to that.”
