Centre for Digital Entertainment
Phil Willis’s research interests are within colour raster graphics, computer games, virtual reality and animation and film technologies. He is Professor of Computing and Director of the Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE) at the University of Bath and Bournemouth University. CDE works with companies, from small to majors, by providing Research Engineers to work on a doctorate in the company. This unusual model has been ground-breaking in bringing university research and company needs together.
CDE is currently support by Disney, Electronic Arts, BBC R&D, Wonky Films, Ninja theory and over 30 others. It has funding for 100 Research Engineers and is the only national centre covering the digital entertainment technology sector.
