TrueSpeed is connecting rural businesses through its ultrafast broadband network

The Keynsham-based broadband provider is sending shockwaves through Somerset
5th August 2019

TrueSpeed, the Keynsham-based broadband provider, is doing its bit to ensure locations further out from the big cities aren’t getting left behind.

The company won the Best Rural ISP 2019 award from the Internet Service Provider Association and has now connected a further four rural businesses in Somerset thanks to its ultrafast broadband network.

The Somerset businesses benefitting from the tech are immensely grateful. Specialist organiser of cottage-based hen weekends, Acacia Cottages, local independent café, Chew Kitchen, outdoor sports specialist, Mendip Activity Centre and award-winning producer Newton Farm Foods, are amongst those now using TrueSpeed.

They now have impeccably fast and reliable broadband connectivity that will have an immediate impact on their business that will last for decades!

Raving reviews

TrueSpeed is fostering a growing tribe of very happy customers. Thatchers Cider, the Pony and Trap gastropub and local charity Send a Cow are also relishing the benefits from their new ultrafast broadband.

Duncan Brown from Acacia Cottages says, “As a business in the Chew Valley we wondered if we would ever get a fast and reliable broadband service. Working with local provider TrueSpeed has been great.

“Installation was simple and as the connection is ultrafast for both downloading and uploading we are now able to use previously unavailable technologies and online tools. Switching from land lands to a VOIP phone system has also been fantastic – saving us more than £100 a month.”

And it’s not just having an impact on the way employees work, as Nicky Lisle from Chew Kitchen explains: “We’ve seen an increase in customers bringing their tablets and laptops to the café to make use of our ultrafast connection, as well as more bookings for business meetings in our private function room.

“And of course, they get to enjoy our excellent coffee, breakfasts and lunches too! It’s great to have a service that primarily enhances the customer experience but also boosts our business.”

It’s the little things too: “And behind the scenes, the fast and reliable Truespeed connection means our card machine can connect through the internet instead of tying up the phone line.”

Joining forces

TrueSpeed is motivated by the neglect the rural community often receives when it comes to inclusion in necessary tech developments.

It’s focused on connecting communities and businesses who are located areas that are harder to reach. TrueSpeed believes this should not be a hinderance and is on a mission to balance out the unfair disparity.

TrueSpeed is joining forces with Somerset Chamber of Commerce to conduct a survey undercover the true extent of poor broadband connections in the region. You can have your say on the survey here – this closes on 23 September!

Stephen Henagulph, Chief Executive of Somerset Chamber of Commerce explains why allowing rural companies to slip behind with their access to reliable tech is such an issue: “Slow broadband speeds are preventing many Somerset businesses from growing in an age when good digital connectivity is vital to success.

“We know slow broadband speeds are causing problems for all sorts of businesses across the county and this survey with Truespeed will help us to find out where the main problem areas lie and to deliver solutions.”

TruesSpeed is thrilled to be apart of this important research in improving business for everyone. Evan Wienburg, CEO at TrueSpeed says, “Our mission at TrueSpeed is to serve neglected local communities that have been battling for years with inadequate connectivity.

“We’re thrilled that these fantastic rural businesses and their customers now have all the broadband bandwidth they need at their fingertips and will continue to build out our network so that more businesses get the ultrafast broadband they deserve too.”
