UX bootcamp set to boost tech skills in Bristol
With tech becoming a greater part of our lives, how we interact with tech, how easy it is to use and ensuring it’s used for its intended purpose is becoming an increasingly important factor in the success of tech companies across the globe.
So it’s no surprise really that the ability to spot potential for these usability and user experience (UX) design-based challenges, and implement them, is a skill that is in big demand.
“This new course is aimed at beginners with no previous design or technical experience”
Stepping in to help plug the skills gap in Bristol is web training provider Develop Me who has developed the brand new User Experience Design Bootcamp – a 12 week, project driven and intensive course that aims to get its students ready to walk straight into their first ever UX designer jobs.
Develop Me, which has been running in Bristol for the last couple of years, already runs a number of successful courses – including a full-time web developer bootcamp and a part-time front-end development course – with aims to be a part of creating inclusive opportunities for all to participate in the region’s digital economy.
Pete New, Develop Me’s Director tells us: “This new course is aimed at beginners with no previous design or technical experience. It will teach the key skills required to research, define, design and develop digital services and products – based upon user-centred design principles.”
Following the course, which officially opens to its first cohort in April 2018, Develop Me students are then offered the opportunity for a paid work placement and career support to help secure a job following graduation.
