Thanks to friends over at Foot Anstey for this interview, offering insight into the world of legal tech.
Meet Ferdie Abdellaoui – Client Solutions Specialist at Foot Anstey. We spoke to Ferdie to understand more about her role as the firm’s Client Solutions Specialist, why she believes legal tech is an important part of legal services today, as well as what she gets up to outside of work.
What does your role involve?
My core focus as Client Solutions Specialist is to continuously improve our client solutions offering by working with partners and clients to understand their needs and build solutions that will support them in achieving their ambitions. This means collaborating with Sector Leaders, Partners, Client Development, and our delivery team, to understand the problems faced by our clients and identify innovative solutions that we can develop to solve these. Our clients, and their ambitions, are at the centre of the process.
What sort of projects do you work on?
Currently, I am helping to build a bespoke end-to-end legal solution for an international restaurant franchise. It’s an exciting project to be involved in as it will streamline many of their legal team’s processes and provide them with access to information and updates on their matters and financials, as well as sharing relevant insights.
What drives you in your role?
Coming up with creative ideas to improve processes, or create new solutions, including understanding the bigger picture. I enjoy getting to grips with our strategy and clients’ strategies and aligning those to produce a client focused outcome that strengthens and supports the firm’s growth in a constantly evolving market.
Why is legal tech important?
It enables clients to access legal services in a far more efficient and cost-effective way than ever before and enable law firms to streamline process work and focus on delivering advice. Through collaborative platforms, a positive engagement process throughout the lifespan of an instruction/matter can be achieved for both the client and the legal team. Also, if used successfully it creates stickability with clients helping to ensure a long-term relationship for the firm.
Tell us something we probably don’t know about you?
I grew up in a multicultural environment, so I speak four languages – Arabic, Norwegian, English and French.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I love getting creative through painting, photography and solving jigsaw puzzles. I also enjoy picking up new skills and exploring new subjects through listening to podcasts, reading and taking courses.
What three words would you use to describe the firm?
Open, progressive, and ambitious.
