Bath-based healthcare applications developer Mayden has announced that eHealth supplier Minddistrict has become the second service provider to join their new online hub for psychological therapies – Prism.

Last year Mayden won backing from the government’s Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) to develop the hub with the goals of allowing professionals working within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme to refer suitable patients to a range of services offered by online therapy providers, with data about the outcomes being sent directly back to the patient’s secure NHS record. The hub is built on iaptus, the patient management system from Mayden which is used by 70% of IAPT services.

“They bring a wealth of experience and solid evidence for the efficacy of online therapies to the table”

Minddistrict is the market leader in eHealth applications in the Netherlands. They’re used in 13 countries across Europe, working with over 150 healthcare providers. They support hundreds of thousands of clients, supplying secure digital intervention and treatment components including remote therapy (secure video sessions, messaging and chat) and online treatment (CBT modules) tailored to the needs of the patient.

“Minddistrict has advanced the uptake of online therapies across the Netherlands,” explains Mayden’s Operations Director, Chris Eldridge. “They bring a wealth of experience and solid evidence for the efficacy of online therapies to the table. We’re thrilled to have them on board.”

“We’re committed to delivering quality treatments and giving patients greater choice and flexibility through online therapy”

The Dutch company follows hot on the heels of Dublin-based SilverCloud Health who announced its involvement in July. It’s a leading provider of online therapeutic solutions to support and promote positive behaviour change and mental wellness.

“As we scale, one of our priorities is to make the SilverCloud platform as accessible and adaptable for providers as possible,” said Ken Cahill, CEO SilverCloud Health. “We are delighted to be the first adopter of Prism, which will help to reduce administration while enhancing IT and data security associated with healthcare systems integration for IAPT service providers.”

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be the pilot service for Prism. Clinical Director, Judith Chapman explains, “IAPT services are under increasing pressure to provide clinically effective and efficient treatments. We’re committed to delivering quality treatments and giving patients greater choice and flexibility through online therapy.”
