Bristol-based startup BookingLive Software, who specialise in online booking software, web-summit-logohas secured an exhibition stand at this year’s prestigious Web Summit ALPHA in Dublin.

Known as the largest startup/tech gathering on the planet, with more than 30,000 attendees flying from over 100 countries to attend this November, the Web Summit conference will offer the team at BookingLive Software the chance to bump shoulders with the likes of Microsoft, Pixar Animation Studios and Facebook.

This will be the first event of this scale BookingLive Software has exhibited at and the team hopes that their presence in the ALPHA startup exhibition will raise their profile within the tech industry as well as potentially helping them to raise some investment.

“I’d definitely advise other Bristol tech startups to apply for Web Summit”

BookingLive Software’s Marketing & Communication Executive, Caitlin Roxburgh, tells us: “We’re looking forward to meeting potential investors as we’re really keen to grow further but are currently being held back by budget restrictions.”

“Alongside this, it will be great to meet startups who are at similar stages to us. Due to providing website design and SEO services alongside our booking software, we’re on the lookout for potential partners to assist with these projects.”

The BookingLive Software team has also entered the Web Summit’s PITCH competition – which offers the top 200 startup entrants the chance to pitch in front of hundreds of the world’s leading investors, journalists, judges and entrepreneurs, for the chance to present on the main stage at Web Summit.

Get involved

Keen to encourage other startups from the South West to get involved, Caitlin tells us a little more about the application process: “I’d definitely advise other Bristol tech startups to apply for Web Summit. It’s free to apply for and is a really straightforward process, so even if you aren’t successful it won’t have taken up too much of your time.”

“I’d also advise other startups to have a good read of Web Summit’s blog – it’s packed full of previous business’s stories and also provides more insight into what happens during the event.

“We’re more than happy to meet-up with local businesses and give advice to them about our experience at Web Summit, so feel free to drop us an email. We’d be happy to share more insights after the event.”

What’s next?

The team at BookingLive Software is on a roll and determined for big successes, and there’s no stopping them at and after Web Summit. Caitlin explains: “In the future, as well as looking to get involved with tech-focused events, we’re also looking to attend (and hopefully exhibit at) sector-specific events.”

“As well as this, we’re looking to get more involved with Bristol events. We’ve been attending the likes of Transform Digital and Venturefest as we’d love to exhibit at these.”
