One of the UK’s most well-loved clay-based heroes, Morph, is celebrating his 40th Anniversary this year.
To celebrate, world-class animator Aardman has set up a Morph exhibition to raise money for the Bristol Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Department as part of a partnership with Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal – a charity set up in 1995 to support the hospital with life-saving equipment and ground-breaking medical facilities as well as providing accommodation, and support for families and patients.
“We are pleased to sponsor and provide the latest contactless payment technology to help raise money for the Children’s Hospital in a convenient and effective way”
Of course, in the digital age even Morph has to keep up with the trends and, with help from Bristol-based payment solutions tech company CreditCall, visitors can now make contactless donations to the Grand Appeal whilst perusing the exhibition.

And a grand idea it is too. With card payments now accounting for more than 50 per cent of all retail purchases in the UK, of which 30 per cent were made using ‘tap and go’ contactless cards, it’s hoped that this new contactless donation systems will mean the campaign raises record amounts for Bristol’s most poorly children.
Contactless charity contributions: A quick tap and go
Jeremy Gumbley, CTO at Creditcall tells us: “The Grand Appeal does fantastic work across Bristol, the South West and beyond and we are extremely proud to enable contactless donations at its shop in Bristol.
“With a lot of avid fans of the Aardman characters amongst our own staff, who have also enjoyed the previous Gromit Unleashed and Shaun in the City trails in Bristol, we are pleased to sponsor and provide the latest contactless payment technology to help raise money for the Children’s Hospital in a convenient and effective way. I have many fond childhood memories of Morph and we wish him all the best on his birthday!”.
Mega Morph
The exhibition, which is lovingly named ‘Still Naughty at 40’, has seen to the design of no less than 20 Morph sculptures which can be viewed at the Mall shopping centre in Cribbs Causeway, as well as a ‘Mega Morph’ standing just outside at an impressive 3 meters tall.
“We are very much looking forward to seeing the positive impact [contactless payments] will have on donations in-store”
The exhibition also offers plenty of hands-on activities including an interactive green screen, a cinema showcasing some of the dynamic duo’s most legendary moments and Morph model-making – well worth the suggested £2 donation.
Helen Haskell, the Grand Appeal’s corporate partnerships manager, adds: “We are so grateful to Creditcall for their generous support in providing a new fundraising platform for our Morph exhibition.
“It’s really exciting for us to have contactless donation points in our shop, and we are very much looking forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on donations in-store which will support sick babies and children being treated in Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
