Thinking of exporting your creative, tech or digital product or skills to Singapore from the South West? Enterprise Nation, the most active UK small business community, is launching a mission to help you do this.
Enterprise Nation’s Go Global Singapore 2017 project is returning to give you an unprecedented opportunity that prepares you for doing business in South East Asia. Anyone can sign up to be a part of the mission which is happening from 20-24 September – you have until tickets sell out, but with only 25 spaces, we wouldn’t hang around!
Most companies will have to pay for themselves, but you can find out if your business is eligible for a grant by emailing emmag@enteprisenation.com.
“Delegates will visit accelerators and agencies, meet local businesses and hear from British entrepreneurs who have cracked the market”
This time around, the focus is on creative, digital and tech sectors. After embarking on successful trips taking food and drink businesses to Paris and fashion organisations to New York, it’s tech’s time to shine.
From the South West to the South East
If you find yourself on the flight to Singapore, you can expect a whole lot of learning ahead of you. Keen to find out more, we caught up with Emma Jones (pictured right), the founder of Enterprise Nation, who tells us, “Attendees can expect a three-day experience that involves getting to know the market, meeting contacts and potential clients on the ground, understanding how to do business in Singapore and ASEAN states and spending time with fellow mission goers, which also often reaps reward.”
“There’s a big appetite for British tech and solutions”
There will be endless benefits from taking part in such a comprehensive trip; you can rest assured you’ll come away knowing exactly how to best enter the market.
Emma adds, “Delegates will visit accelerators and agencies, meet local businesses and hear from British entrepreneurs who have cracked the market.”
Emma tells us the mission will be particularly beneficial for digital and media agencies as well as anyone delivering smart city solutions: “The ASEAN [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] area is home to 600 million consumers, has been ranked as one of the most digitally innovative places on earth and there’s a big appetite for British tech and solutions.”
And currently, two-thirds of Britain’s South East Asian exports go to Singapore making it an ideal location for this mission!
Girls just wanna have… equality
Enterprise Nation isn’t just stopping there. Its annual Festival of Female Entrepreneurs returns this October!
The event celebrates entrepreneurial women who are smashing it in their field. With the ‘170 years to close the pay gap’ statistic ringing in women’s ears, the festival is once again being welcomed with open arms and a huge smile.
Emma tells us this year the venue is moving to the Harbour Hotel in Bristol and is hosting a fantastic lineup of speakers, “including Edwina Dunn who founded Tesco Clubcard, the founder of fast growth flower subscription business Bloom & Wild, Daniel Korski who is leading the UK agenda on govtech, and the female MD of Mansfield Football Club. It should be another day to remember!”
Want to know more about the festival? Find all the details you need from the Festival of Female Entrepreneurs’ website.
